Rehab, Health and the Mind

"Stability work is an essential component of any rehabilitation program. I find the Vew-Do is excellent for doing shoulder, knee, back and neck stability and strengthening exercises and use it daily with my clients to help them recover from their injury, irrespective of their fitness level"

-- Francine St George, Australian Physiotherapist/Sports Scientist
Author of the 'Bodyworks' Book

If you have had knee, ankle or just about any other injury or surgery, using a Vew-Do Balance Board will speed your way to recovery. (See what Lars Tribus has to say)

Using the Vew-Do board is a more challenging and FUN extension of using the tried and tested Wobble Board seen in most Gyms and Physios and as the exercises are more challenging they will hasten your recovery.

Most of the exercises on the Tips and Tricks page can be introduced into any Rehabilitation programme. As the exercises involve little or no impact they will quickly build the muscle around the joints without risk of further damage or injury.

Until you are confident on the board start by using a 'spotter' to hold you or use a bar (or back of the sofa) to give you confidence. You'll be amazed how quickly you start to feel the benefits.

Prehabilitation

Using a Vew-Do Balance Board regularly will also help to prevent injury.

NRL players have to do compulsory exercises to strengthen their necks to reduce the risk of injury.

Any sports person at whatever level who puts their knees and ankles through their paces should consider using Vew-Do as part of their regular training to reduce the risk of injury.

Tests in Italy have shown that Balance training reduces the risks of ACL injuries with soccer players.

The Mind

Recent studies and reports have linked Balance to learning difficulties, in particular dyslexia, amongst children and have recommended incorporating Balance exercises to help the brain function in a more efficient manner.

Health

Vew-Do Balance Boards have been recommended to patients suffering from Parkinson's to help them control their co-ordination which in turn can help sufferers control their movements.
